These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the ScanLeap mobile application (the "App"), provided on Google Play and the Apple App Store. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
ScanLeap lets you scan, convert, export, and enhance documents using your device's camera and photo library. Scanning, cropping, image enhancement, and on-device object detection happen locally on your device. The App also offers an optional, opt-in feature (described in our Privacy Policy) to back up files you create to your own Google Drive account.
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. By using the App, you represent that you meet the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction.
You can use the App by signing in with your Google account or by continuing as a Guest.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs through it within the App.
Guest sessions are tied to your device/app installation. If you uninstall the App or clear its data without signing in, content associated with that guest session may be permanently lost. We are not responsible for any loss of content from a Guest session.
You may sign out of the App at any time. You are responsible for backing up any documents you wish to keep, including by exporting them or using the optional Google Drive backup feature when available.
Documents, images, and files you scan, create, or export using the App ("Your Content") belong to you. Because the App processes and stores Your Content locally on your device (and, only if you opt in, in your own Google Drive), we do not claim any ownership over Your Content and, except as described in our Privacy Policy, we do not access, store, or have visibility into it.
You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the right to scan, store, and share it. You agree not to use the App to scan, store, or distribute content that is unlawful, infringes on the rights of others, or violates any applicable law.

The App displays advertisements served through Google AdMob and relies on Google Firebase for authentication. If you use the optional Google Drive backup feature, that feature relies on the Google Drive API. Your use of these integrated services is also subject to Google's own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of these third-party services beyond our integration of them as described in our Privacy Policy.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that scanning, cropping, enhancement, or conversion features will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly accurate. ScanLeap should not be relied upon as the sole means of preserving or submitting documents where accuracy is critical. Always verify the output against your original document.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCANLEAP AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, DOCUMENTS, REVENUE, OR GOODWILL.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid, if any, to use the App during the twelve months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
We may suspend or discontinue the App, or your access to it, at any time, including if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles, except where applicable local consumer protection law provides otherwise.
